About Seb's Space
Seb's Space is named for my son, and one day it's meant to genuinely be his — not just in name. It's the two of us: I'm his mum, raising him on my own. I'm autistic and have ADHD; Seb is autistic and has ADHD too, and he doesn't use spoken language to communicate. This site is as much his as it is mine.
Why this exists
I think a lot about the future — specifically, what happens for Seb when I'm no longer the one caring for him. I want him to have a real income stream that's genuinely his, built around what he's good at rather than around what he can't do. Seb's Space is meant to grow into that: something he has a real stake in, that can support him long after I'm not the one running it. Along the way, I'm using it to teach him — slowly, in whatever way works for him — the pieces that go into running something: what a product is, what a recommendation is, what it means to help someone else make a decision.
What we share here
Some of this site is practical — sensory tools and everyday gear, the buying guides you'll find under Reviews & Guides. Just as much of it is the actual texture of our life: the wins, the days that don't go to plan, and how we work out, in real time, how to navigate the world as a neurodivergent family. If any of that makes another family feel a little less alone, that matters to us as much as the product guides do.
Our guides are organised around the problem you're trying to solve, not the product category, because that's usually how it actually comes up: "how do we get through the school run" matters more than "which brand of headphones."
How we choose what to recommend
We research build quality, safety guidance, and what occupational therapists and other specialists generally advise, and we're upfront in each guide about what we've personally used versus what we're still evaluating. Where we do link to specific products, some of those links are affiliate links — see the Affiliate Disclosure for exactly how that works and how it does (and doesn't) affect what gets recommended.
